Living in the Past, Preparing for the Future

We had a great week of "living in the past" with the objects students brought in, as well as our three parent volunteers! A BIG thanks for taking time out of your busy day to show us some cool things! I am attempting to figure out the "slide show" feature on our class website so that we can showcase everything we've learned about this week. Here's an interesting one: an early curling iron (no cord!) that you would heat on the wood stove.

February is bringing a lot of fun holidays our way! February 2nd is Groundhog's Day, and we will be making predictions if the little guy will see his shadow this year. The 100th Day of School is Monday, February 6th, where we will be exploring all things 100. Please read the note in your child's folder on Wednesday about bringing in 100 items (anything from cereal pieces to paper clips!) for that day. February 14th brings Valentine's Day where we will exchange valentines and do some related activities during math and writing.

Don't forget that the Read-a-Thon begins this Wednesday! Information came home in last week's Fox Folders, and I placed the envelope in your child's agenda on Friday. Also, we are collecting box tops and labels to win our class an ice-cream party! Thanks to those who have already sent some in!

Here's hoping the groundhog foresees an early Spring! :)
